I adore Alteya Organics, as they provide high quality organic formulas that cater to most budgets and are very effective. So when they asked if I would be up for reviewing a selection of products of course I had to say yes! After a bit of a consultation, I was directed toward the Timeless Glow Renewal Moisturizer which I happily accepted. I was also lucky enough to be sent the Bio Damascena Rose Otto Face Sunscreen which I have been curious about for a while now.
Both green goodies are housed in glass packaging (with plastic tops) and come in a recyclable cardboard box that contains all the important information regarding ingredients, usage instructions, best before dates, and batch details. Need more to love? Each formula is 100% natural, certified organic by NaTrue, and animal cruelty free, plus the moisturizer is vegan friendly!
My parcel from Alteya arrived early/mid February, so I have been testing for over a month now. When it comes to facial skincare in particular I like to spend a lengthy amount of time trialing before forming any solid opinion. This ensures any recommendations I make, especially to you lovelies who also have semi-sensitive/congestion prone skin, are accurate and fair. Plus, it gives me the chance to fully assess any results.

Timeless Glow Renewal Moisturizer (†)
You all know my struggle with moisturizers. I have always found this particular product difficult as my fussy skin seems to reject the majority. Well, happily I can say that Alteya's Timeless Glow Renewal Moisturizer got on pretty well with my face! I think the long cold winter months have taken a toll, and this nourishing formula really helped give me the boost I was needing.
What exactly is Timeless Glow from Alteya, and what is it good for? Well...
This rich, yet weightless NaTrue certified organic moisturizer, full of plant-derived antioxidant and hydrating ingredients, helps reveal your skin’s full beauty potential. It soothes skin, fights signs of aging, provides intense moisture and instantly boosts natural glow. Powered by plant essences, this renewal moisturizer fortifies your skin, making it more resilient over time. The advanced skincare science behind this product utilizes the potent effects of wild crafted herbs and plants from the eco Balkan Mountain region, as well as complex combinations of hyaluronic acid, marine and coastal plant extracts to deeply moisturize, detoxify and beautify.
I mentioned my age and skin type when arranging what products I would test, and I was kindly guided towards this particular formula both because of my love of jasmine and due to my tendency for congestion around my t-zone as well as hormonal spots. I have to say this ended up being a great fit for me. Not only does it smell fab, it feels nice and light on the skin and gives a nice natural barrier against the elements.
The first thing I found myself loving was the aroma -- a perfect fusion of sweet florals, with jasmine, rose, and calendula, this naturally fragranced formula is a treat for the senses as well as the skin. The delicate aroma helps settle my nerves and bring me a sense of peace of mind, making this the perfect first and last step to my day. I like to just breathe in the cream before applying, and since the scent does stick around for a bit I rub the excess into my hands so I can get a burst of the sensual blossoms whenever I brush my hair out of my face or when I rest my chin on my hand while doing work.
In terms of the cream itself, it has a yellow tint to it which makes it look incredibly rich, but the texture is silky smooth and applies so easily. While Timeless Glow is definitely nourishing, it sits pretty light on the skin after absorbing (and it sinks in fully, almost as soon as you rub it in!) which means it feels breathable and not clawing at all. In fact, once it is on I kind of forget that it's even on! There is no oiliness left behind on my face, and while my hand will feel a bit sticky where I rub in the excess, I would say this is residue free for the most part.
I always have the worry that new face products will lead to break outs or tons of blemishes, and to be fair this does tend to happen more often than not, especially when the formula contains coconut oil. While I did have a few small spots appear, the rose jasminium moisturizer from Alteya Organics faired well overall. I have never found a heavier duty face cream that was suited to my skin, and I have been impressed by how well Alteya Organics' Rose Jasminium Timeless Glow Renewal Moisturizer has worked for me. Not only has my skin felt calmer and less parched, it looks super healthy, fuller, and more radiant. I feel like my face looks so much smoother since using, and I haven't had any flaky patches since introducing this into my routine. While I have had a couple spotty areas, it's nothing overwhelming and they go away pretty quickly.
The glow boost I have gotten from this moisturizer has been exactly what I need at this time of year. I have been feeling major summer vibes (no thanks to the sunshine we had for a minute last week!) and so I'm wanting to get my skin nourished and ready for the warm weather that should be around the corner. I want to get a bit of colour and brightness into my complexion, and this is doing the trick right now!
Have any of you lovelies tried this formula out yet? I would love to know what you think of the Timeless Glow moisturizer from Alteya Organics if you have used it -- did you experience lovely soft skin like I did? Did you notice a difference in your face at all? Let me know!

Bio Damascena Rose Otto Face Sunscreen (†)
Okay, so I have a terrible admission to make... I am dreadful about applying sunscreen to my face!
I know how important it is, and I know what a difference it can make for keeping skin healthy and 'young,' but I just hate the feeling with a passion. Every sunscreen has always felt oily and heavy, made my face look like an absolute grease pit, and left me breaking out the day after use. So I had pretty much just given up. If I knew I would be out all day in the sun of course I would use some, but I would much rather just wear a massive wide brim hat and hope for the best nine times out of ten. *whoops*
Well, Alteya Organics has come to my rescue.
This luxurious NaTrue certified organic day face lotion with pure Bulgarian Rose Otto is a unique product formula which provides reliable sun protection and also excellent anti-aging benefits! It leaves skin moist and glowing, it hydrates and soothes skin while protecting from sun radiation and fighting off visible signs of aging and past sun damage at the same time!
I was not sure what to expect from the Bio Damascena Rose Otto Face Sunscreen -- would it be like a moisturizer with SPF, or would it be a full blown UV treatment?? Would it feel slick like traditional sun protection? How would it leave my skin at the end of the day??
The answer? This is not your average sunscreen.
First of all, this award winning product provides SPF 25 protection and anti-aging properties without weighing down your skin or clogging your pores. The texture of the Rose Otto Face Sunscreen is actually pretty lightweight which was a nice discovery. It fully absorbs into the skin rather than sitting on top like other SPF formulas, and I have not noticed any heavy residue or greasy feeling left behind. The treatment feels slightly moisturizing as well which is fab because I don't feel like I am missing out on additional oils or creams and can just wear it on a fresh face. And while it does not smell as delightful as the Rose Jasminium formula, it also does not have that sickly smell many other sunscreens have -- instead, it has a very subtle scent that is a bit like a coconut oil infused with just a hint of rose. I don't notice it at all though after a few seconds, and for me that is a huge perk to Alteya's cream.
Another difference, and one that really surprised me, is the colour of the cream. I was expecting the usual white sunscreen to come out, but instead my pump brought a pop of rosy beige! I somehow hadn't noticed this was tinted until that moment, but lucky for me this wasn't an issue at all. In fact, the surprise turned out to make me like this product even more! I found this blends out really naturally and has a wonderful colour matching ability, but do be aware the pigment is pretty peachy at first so it may not suit every skin tone. Once blended, it leaves my skin looking matte, a bit dewy, and somehow more flawless than ever!
I will need to put this to the true test when the sun finally comes out more regularly, but until then I think this is doing a fab job. I have had a few spots, but seeing how I react to just about everything that contains coconut oil I am not super shocked about this. I just make sure I wash my face thoroughly as soon as I am in for the day, and add a generous amount of a congestion treatment to my routine. So far this has been working a treat and has made my experience with Alteya's sunscreen all the better since I don't have to sacrifice clear skin for protection against harmful rays.
In terms of wear, you need to reapply about every two hours just like with any other sun cream. This keeps the UV protection active and effective. Luckily, as Alteya's formula is tinted, reapplying actually gives your skin a lovely mid day pick me up. I find you can pop over makeup no problem, just be sure to fully blend.
I would love to know what your experience has been with natural sun screens (or face sunscreens in general!) -- have you had the same worries and troubles as me? And if you have tried this product specifically, let me know what you thought! Would be great to hear others' perspectives and experiences!
Ingredients: Distilled Thermal Water, Zinc Oxide, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Oil*, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil*, Glycerin*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea butter)*, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Oil*, Cucurbita Pepo (Pumpkin) Seed Oil*, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax*, Polygliceril-6 Stearate (and) Polygliceril-6 Behenate, Garlic / Capric Triglycerides, Cera Alba (BeesWax)*, Lecithin*, Isoamyl Laurate, Macadamia Integrifolia (Macadamia) Oil*, Glyceryl Caprylate, Glyceryl Undecylenate, Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba (Guar) Gum*, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil*, Rosa Damascena Flower Extract, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil*, Pistacia Lentiscus (Mastic) Gum, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primerose) Oil*, Rosa Canina (Rose Hip) Oil*, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Oil*, Iron Oxides (CI 77492, CI 77491, CI 77499), Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Hippophae Rhamnoides (Seabuckthorn) Fruit Extract*, Calndula Officinalis (Flower) Extract*, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil*, Cymbopogon Martini (Palmarosa) Oil*, Anthemis Nobilis (Roman Chamomile) Flower Oil*, Linalool**, Geraniol**, Citronellol**, Eugenol**.
I'm finding this duo the perfect pairing for me for this time of year. I think the intense moisture qualities provided by the Timeless Glow moisturizer are really helping heal my skin and give renewed life to my face, and the Rose Otto Face Sunscreen is helping protect against harmful UVA and UVB rays. Used together, I am ensuring the health of my skin and making sure I avoid irreversible damage that can lead to fine lines, wrinkles, or worse.
You can buy these beauties direct from Alteya Organics, or if you have a full shop you need to do you can always pop them in your Love Lula basket!

Amazing review Bryanna! I love products from Alteya Organics but haven't tried these particular products yet. The sunscreen sounds great and would love to give it a go especially as it doesn't leave any whiteness behind since it's tinted! It's definitely not easy finding a good natural sunscreen for the face, some of them do give me breakouts but normally I quite get on with sunscreens from Green People.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard of this brand and I'm always on the look out to try new products. The cold weather has dried my skin recently and I'm glad to hear that this moisturiser doesn't leave the skin oily. The cream doesn't look thick and its great that it's organic and animal cruelty free too. I'm definitely going to try this brand!
ReplyDeleteI've not heard about this brand before. I'm a bit dubious of natural sunscreens having such fair skin, but I could be persuaded to try.
