Natural Summer Makeup - French Green Beauty Spotlight

I'm currently visiting family in Western New York, so today I thought it would be wonderful if we all took some time to appreciate international eco beauty brands!

Continuing with my lovely series of guest posts, we have Manon from Rendezvous Green joining today to share some of her favourite French makeup brands and a natural look she's put together.  I've covered a few makeup brands here on the blog, and I'm happy to add even more from abroad thanks to Manon!  I'd love if you showed her some support, and let us know if you've discovered anything new!

French all natural makeup look

Bonjour Bonjour!

Today I invite myself over The ecoLogical and I wanted to share with you a Natural Makeup look. This makeup is realised with 100% French makeup brands as I thought it would be fun to show you my favourite brands from my home country!

Once my face is cleaned, I usually apply a small amount of serum (either gel or oil based) to hydrate and nourish my skin.
It gets my skin ready for the Couleur Caramel BB cream. It gives a nice glow and a good coverage for a BB cream!

This BB cream contains organic Argan and Apricot Oils to nourish and give a nice boost of moisture to the skin. It also contains Hyaluronic Acid to help maintain hydration. It nicely unify the skin and I like using it with a beauty blender so it goes nicely on the skin without looking cakey.

I used to not like it so much as I always applied it with my fingers in small quantity. It would look like I painted my face! But since using a little bit more product and taping it with the beauty blender, it looks much more flawless!

Couleur Caramel is a well known brand that has been established for quite some time in France (launched in 2004!). The Couleur Caramel makeup range is even used for Miss France every year for all the misses makeup look!

Absolution Concealer Shade 10 natural French makeup

After the BB cream, I go for the Absolution concealer in the shade 10. This shade of concealer is a universal apricot tone. Applied on the dar circles, it cancels the dark colour and has a good pigmentation.

I would classify Absolution as a high end range and the beauty about this brand is all the nourishing and high quality ingredients their formulations are made of. They first developed a range of beautiful skincare and then got to an amazing makeup collection collaborating with Christophe Danchaud, a French makeup artist for celebrities.

To complete it I finish my under eye concealing with the Avril concealer in the shade Porcelaine. (It is vegan!) The texture of this concealer is creamy but very thick.

Taken with my fingers I apply it and tap it under my eye. I find it gives a very good coverage but you will need to reapply it in the middle of the day or use finishing powder to enable the staying power a little bit better.

Avril is one of the most affordable French brands and you get good quality for its price!

I will then go for the Couleur Caramel Eyeshadow Palette 1, and I use the 5th colour from the left (colour number 4 called "Pearly Pink Brown" but I believe it has been discontinued).

For everyday makeup I just simply use one eyeshadow all over my lid! I don’t bother with much more because 1. I am lazy and 2.  As I apply the eyeliner, I find it makes a natural simple look which is what I am looking for. Here I will be applying red lipstick so it is better to keep simple eye makeup!

After the eyeshadow applied, I then use the Boho Green brown eyeliner. This has been my favourite eyeliner for a few years and is a repeat purchase!

I just find it very easy to apply as it has a spongy hard but flexible end (instead of a proper brush). It stays in place well all day, although it is not waterproof.

Boho Green Cosmetics is a French Cosmetics Brand that uses cardboard for their packaging, are natural, organic and cruelty free! Their range is a bit more expensive than Avril but very affordable! They have plenty of eyeshadow, foundation powders, lipstick, mascaras…

And here we are coming to the mascara! The Couleur Caramel Volume Mascara used to be one of my favourite, but since I discovered Le Mascara from Avril, well, I noticed how more difficult it is to use the Couleur Caramel mascara brush.

Couleur Caramel Volume Mascara

I have had this mascara for few months but it contains so much product that the brush simply takes too much of it and it get messy on my eyelashes.  It is good that it has so much product as it will last for a long time, but it is not very easy to apply. Not to mention the very non waterproof effect it has got.

For the blush I am gonna use again some Avril product and I am using here the blush Pêche Rosé which is a nice orange shade with a hint of rose. It is an organic pink blush and is a nice colour for summer!

I don’t have any highlighter from French Brand, but I am going to return to my Couleur Caramel Eyeshadow Palette and I will be using the 2nd colour from the left. This pearly light cream colour is just enough for giving a nice shimmer on my cheek bones, on the cupid’s bow and on my chin.

Finally, I am applying the Colorisi Lipstick in 05 Pêche de Vigne. It is a matte lipstick, slightly orange red and it is a perfect colour for summer days.

I must says this is one of the few lipsticks I own that has the strongest staying power! You will need to reapply after food but a tiny tiny amount in the middle will be enough as it is so matte and pigmented!

Colorisi is a vegan and natural French Brand that works to care for the skin as well as subliming it. The top active ingredient from the brand is coffee. Coffee helps maintaining the creation of collagen and elastin. It also contains Chlorogenic acid that is known for its antioxidant properties.

Colorisi proposes makeup that is refillable, such as the lipsticks or pressed powders. You can get a nice cherry wood empty palette that you fill with whatever eyeshadows, bronzers, highlighters or foundation.

And that's the end of my makeup look!  Not too long, and it creates a beautiful no makeup make up look that's great for summer!

Here is the final look with all the products applied on my face:

What do you think? I really like that pop of colour on the lips and I really like this lipstick that is low maintenance and stays in put very well!

I hope you liked this look!
Thanks for reading,

Xx,

Manon
