Love Lula Beauty Box - November 2019 Review *

Another month, another Love Lula Beauty Box!  I always look forward to this little white cardboard box landing on my porch, and November was no exception.  As soon as the postie delivered, I was opening up to see what was inside!

The November edit includes six products, two of which are sachets and four that are full size.  And overall, the collection is worth £48 -- more than double what subscribers pay for a monthly subscription!  The value for these boxes is always great, and I love how many discoveries I have found through Love Lula.  And this month brought a host of new formulas that I was excited to dig into...

Ayumi Organic Coconut Enriched Hair Oil (150ml / £7.99):

I've not had the best luck with Ayumi products in the past, as several include phenoxyethonal which I am very reactive to.  However, the Hair Oil does not include this pesky ingredient, and I was excited to be able to try one of their goodies out!

Organic Coconut oil is a wonderfully rich and moisturising oil and is traditionally used by women in India to nourish their scalp, roots and hair. Rich in Omega 6, this Coconut oil is enhanced with highly nourishing and strengthening extracts renowned for their hair benefits. Sesame oil is rich in protein and helps to strengeth hair, Henna helps give thick, healthy and silky hair, while Amla and Rosemary are traditionally used to stimulate scalp circulation and hair growth and are ideal massage.

Ayumi Organic Coconut Enriched Hair Oil Review

While I won't be using this as a hair treatment (coconut oil breaks my face/scalp out really badly, and I find it actually makes my hair feel dryer for some reason), I will be trying it out as a body oil.  I adore the scent of coconut, and the blend of sesame, rosemary, and lemon sounds fantastic.  I think this might work great for Tim as well, and I might try my hand at making some conditioner with this as a base for him!

I was also pleased to see this came in such a large size.  Many of the hair oils I use come in 15-30ml size glass dropper bottles, so it was actually a surprise to see such a big product -- this will be one that lasts ages!  And as it is already priced so well, this is most definitely a great budget friendly find.

Ingredients: Cocos Nucifera Oil (Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Oil Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Oil Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon )Extract Phyllanthus Emblica (Amla) Extract Lawsonia Inermis (Henna)Extract Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract Citral*, Geraniol*, Limonene*, Linalool* *Natural within essential oils.

Further Recommendations:

To be honest, many of the Ayumi formulas just don't suit my needs as they include harsh alcohols or phenoxyethonal.  However, the pressed oils sound lovely and I am sure I will pick up a few when I need a top up!  And the scrub from a previous month's box smells so lovely.

Nature's Kitchen Kiwi, Apple & Cucumber Skin Soothing Face Wash (100ml / £10.99):

Nature's Kitchen is another brand that offers many budget friendly products, and is one that a lot of the Love Lula subscribers really enjoy.  So of course I was keen to see what this face wash promised!

Gently cleanse away impurities and toxins with our super soft Kiwi, Apple & Cucumber Skin Soothing Face Wash. Infused with super high end anti ageing ingredients including vitamins A, B3, C and E along with natures organic green fruits of apple, cucumber, guava, fennel, spinach and kale for smoother, softer and youthful looking skin. Make our Kiwi, Apple & Cucumber Skin Soothing Face Wash your daily must have essential. It sounds and feels like a super healthy green smoothie too. What a treat for your skin!

Nature's Kitchen Kiwi, Apple & Cucumber Skin Soothing Face Wash Review

The blend sounds fab, and I would love to enjoy a fruity burst of apples and kiwi, especially during the winter months, but unfortunately this is one I will need to be passing on to someone else.  Phenoxyethonal.  So sad, as the juicy aroma would be perfect for brightening up these cold grey days!

For those without this sensitivity, I would love to hear how you get on with this product.  Is it as delightful as it sounds?  Is it super summery??  Let me know!

Further Recommendations:
Unfortunately every product I've checked contains phenoxyethonal, so I won't be purchasing anything from this range.  I wish I could because the prices are good and some of the combinations (like kiwi, apple, and cucumber) sound so lovely!

Madara Hemp Hemp Lip Conditioning Balm (15ml / £10.00):

Yay!  I was so happy to see another one of Madara's lip balms inside the Love Lula Beauty Box, as I got on so well with the last one.  I must admit, I was curious to see what the Hemp Hemp version would smell like, as the Plum was so sweet and much more in my usual comfort zone.  But in terms of effects, I knew this would be another hit, as the other formulas was so nourishing and easy to use.

Formulated with richly nourishing olive oil, shea butter, and conditioning hemp oil that energizes skins protective barrier. Rich in essential fatty acids omega 3 and 6, the hemp oil also provides a significant supply of antioxidants that provide strong anti-ageing effects. Prevents skin dryness and provides extreme comfort all day long.

Madara Hemp Hemp Lip Conditioning Balm Review

So what is Hemp Hemp like?

Well, it is just as smooth as the other lip balm, gliding across the lips and packing a huge moisture punch that is ideal for soothing dry lips and healing any cracks or chapped areas.  It sinks in so doesn't feel greasy on your lips at all, and adds great protection against the weather.  Perfect for this time of year!

In terms of scent, the Hemp Hemp Lip Conditioning Balm is surprisingly subtle, with just a hint of nuttiness beneath the clear, fresh aroma.  The blend of castor, olive fruit, coconut, and hemp seed oil provides an earthy base to the calming chamomile, calendula, and sea buckthorn fruit extracts, and it's a lovely mix.

Overall, I'm super pleased with this lip balm!  And with the 25% discount on the brand, I'm excited to try out some of the new Madara makeup products too -- anyone else??

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil Cera Alba Sorbitan Olivate Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit Butter Tocopherol Aroma Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil Propolis Extract Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea-buckthorn) Fruit Extract Chamomilla Recutita (Camomile) Flower Extract Calendula Officinalis (Calendula) Flower Extract Stevia Extract Limonene Linalool Geraniol Citral

Further Recommendations:

I have tried a LOT of Madara products thanks to Love Lula.  You can find my thoughts on various formulas by clicking the "Madara" tag at the bottom of this post if you are interested in reading more about the brand and what they offer.  One of my stand outs is the Active AHA Brightening Peel Mask, and also the Smart Antioxidants range which works amazing on drier and more mature skin types.  And I'm soo keen to try the new makeup range!

Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Apricot Revitalising Face Oil (30ml / £19.00):

I've really liked the Ooh! Oils of Heaven range, and adore the less is more approach the brand takes to ingredient lists.  Each of the formulas contains just a single oil, making them super versatile and perfectly pure.  They are great for those with sensitive skin, who like DIYing their own skincare, or who just want a solid base for their routine.  So when I found out that there was a new offering in the Ooh! family, I was excited to test it out!

Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Apricot Face Oil Review

The Apricot Revitalising Face Oil is ideal for those wanting to tackle fines lines and wrinkles, or who just need to offer their skin some TLC with the nourishing and non greasy oil.  This is meant to be great for preventing acne, reducing dryness, and diminishing dark circles, and I am keen to see how it holds up!

Organic cold pressed Apricot Oil is pressed from oil-rich kernels of the Apricot fruit and resembles the natural sebum produced by our skin. It is extremely good for dry and sensitive skin, especially for maturing skin. It helps to revitalise and soften tired looking skin while smoothing fine lines due to its excellent ability to deeply penetrate the skin.

I've got a lot of oils on my lineup still to get through, so I will most definitely update when I've gotten around to trying this one out properly.  I have been playing with it a bit in DIY recipes though, and so far I can say this: the oil smells gorgeous, with a semi-sweet and lightly nutty aroma that is surprisingly juicy when you first apply.  It's a rounded, gentle scent, and one that I'm really loving.  The oil itself absorbs easily, isn't heavy on the skin, and it is great for moisturizing and protecting against the cold weather.  Overall, super pleased!

It would be fab to hear from you lovelies too of course!  Are you enjoying this apricot oil?  Are you loving Ooh! Oils of Heaven??  How do you use these base oils?  Let me know!

Ingredients: 100% Prunus armeniaca kernel oil

Further Recommendations:
I honestly really enjoy all of the oils Ooh! Oils of Heaven makes.  They're so gentle and pure, and well priced for the quality.  My favourite is the avocado which I use for my hair.  I've also really enjoyed the rosehip in the past!

Samples of Zojo The Bikini Body Formula + Joik Anti Age Rejuvenating Eye Contour Cream:

You all know I'm not keen on single use sachet products, so I wasn't overjoyed by the inclusion of these samples to be honest.  I would rather have fewer items in the box, or a proper try me jar/bottle of a formula, as this usually means I can get a good idea about how the product works for me AND the packaging is more likely to be recyclable.

That being said, I will be using both of these at some point in the future - probably when traveling as sachets are useful when trying to pack light.  I would just rather these brands #SkipTheSachet and opt for other alternatives...

Love Lula Beauty Box - November 2019 Review

I'm intrigued by the Zojo powder, as I'm not one who usually uses food supplements like this (the taste has put me off in the past).  I can't wait to see how this compares to other powders I've tried, and am interested to see what the formula promises.  That being said, one use won't see any results, so that's a shame.

As for the Joik, I'm a fan of some of their products as I love how affordable they are and the quality is pretty great too.  Looking forward to seeing how their eye treatment works for me!

Love Lula Beauty Box - November 2019 Review

While not every single item is for me this month, I found at least two stand out stars in this edit, plus a few goodies I'll be trialing to see how I get on.  I'm also super excited to use the 25% off code on some products that have been on my wishlist -- what a great way to save AND explore new green goodies!

Overall, a really good box full of fab goodies for subscribers.  I particularly was excited to see the latest Ooh! Oils of Heaven release, as this is a new addition to the range.  I also was happy to see another Madara lip product inside the edit, as I enjoyed the last one so much.
