It has been a while since I have done a dedicated Brand Spotlight, and today I'm excited to feature a line of green goodies that has been a part of my skincare shelf for about a year - Maison Meunier!
I first was introduced to this beautiful brand back when judging 2019's BSL Awards, and was smitten with several of their formulations straight away. A few months later, I found myself testing even more of the range thanks to The Natural Beauty Box, and ever since then I have been a firm supporter!
Maison Meunier is a lovely vegan and cruelty free brand born in Paris and handcrafted in Manchester by Natacha. They offer a wide selection of skincare products, from cleansers to soaps, plus a few wellbeing treatments as well. I love a brand that has a full lineup to choose from, and today I am going to be sharing my thoughts on their collection, highlighting a few favourites, and letting you know what makes Maison Meunier worth trying!

Purifying Face Mask:
The Purifying Face Mask is a mineral rich dead sea mud treatment that refines and revives the skin with the help of damask rosewater, green tea, apple, watermelon and cucumber. It is a gorgeous slate grey that evokes feelings of calm and luxury, and that vibe continues with every other aspect of this beauty. The aroma is so sweetly floral with undertones of something richer and warmer that give it an added element of dreaminess. Seriously, everything about this mask is lush!In terms of texture, I don't think I have used a face mask that comes close to how velvety and soft this one is. In the jar, it looks like it might be a bit gritty, but on the skin... It's like silk. Maison Meunier has perfected the consistency and has crafted a product that is somehow simultaneously thick but lightweight, super nourishing but purifying, and velvety smooth but provides a gentle exfoliation. Honestly you have to experience this to believe it.
I find this vegan friendly mask provides the perfect pamper session, as it draws out toxins without drying out the skin while the aroma washes over you and soothes your spirit as well as your skin. I love how soft my face feels after using the Purifying Face Mask, and there is always a lovely glow to my skin after I rinse off. One thing I will say is that if you have congestion prone or fussy skin like I do, you will want to be sure to thoroughly wash this off, as it does contain coconut oil. If I am not super thorough sometimes I do end up with the odd blemish the next day, but as long as I take the time to cleanse properly I don't tend to have any issues.
This is the perfect face mask for anyone's collection, especially those with dry, mature, or oily skin. I've introduced this to family, and everyone has loved it just as much as I have! The blend does a great job at balancing out the skins natural oils and providing both a moisture boost and glow up for dull or tired complexions, plus it doubles as a lovely aromatherapy treatment.

Aloe Vera & Chamomile Silk Face Lotion:
Something I really adore about Maison Meunier is the minimalist approach to packaging they take. There is no excessive branding, and no need to rely on over the top designs. Instead, they use eco-friendly recyclable cardboard to protect most of their range, and often you will find their formulas housed within sheek black glass bottles. And that is just what you get with the Aloe Vera & Chamomile Silk Face Lotion. When I first saw this product, my first thought was that it really captures that eco-luxe aesthetic. And the lotion itself continues this vibe, with a consistency that marries the nourishment of a thicker cream with the second-skin feel of a thin lotion. This starts off appearing rich, but you will quickly be surprised by how delicate it actually is (both in scent and finish). The formula is so silky, gliding easily across the skin and fully absorbing so no oily residue is left behind on the face. The velvety qualities continue, as your skin ends up feeling super smooth - it's divine. Perfect for summer weather or for those who are looking for a soothing, hydrating, lightweight facial treatment.
Unfortunately I did find myself unable to use this long term, as my face revolts against coconut oil. Despite this not feeling heavy at all and being incredibly gentle, my congestion prone skin just was not suited to the combination of shea, coconut, and olive. It is such a shame, as I truly enjoyed the conditioning qualities and softening benefits.
If your skin drinks up these moisturizing ingredients though, you will be in for a real treat.

Active Botanical Facial Serum with Coenzyme Q10:
Looking for a dose of decadence? Maison Meunier's Active Botanical Facial Serum delivers! This is a unique part of the range, as it is actually not one but TWO products - a traditional bottle with a glass dropper, and a vial with gemstone rollerball. Both contain the same serum, but offer different methods of application as well as a handy way to travel with your green goodies.
While my face did not get on so well with lotion, it *did* find a great match with this formula. Beautiful in both smell and feel, this radiance boosting "serum" is another favourite of mine from the range. The lightly sweet and floral aroma is so calming with its notes of sensuous rose de mai and soothing bergamot. It's reminiscent of delicate jasmine, and I find it incredibly peaceful so can't help but pause to breathe in the scent.
The oil (because to me it is more an oil than a serum) absorbs well and offers a light barrier that protects against the elements. It is non-greasy, and serves as the perfect product to lock in moisture! Maison Meunier has crafted a rich yet light treatment that gives a potent punch of nourishment and helps heal and replenish skin. Just a few drops and my face feels softened, restored, and supple, and it has a lovely renewed glow.
I'll admit I'm more keen on the bottle version of this, as I found the rollerball stiff and did not apply as easily. Maybe I got a faulty one? Either way, it is the plant-based potion inside that has captured my appreciation, and it is truly something worth trying!

Radiance Scrub for Face and Body:
I'll admit, I am usually not keen on products like this as I find them far too messy. Coffee grounds are exceptionally bad for pipes, so I always find properly cleaning up a bit of a faff as I have to ensure nothing gets washed down the drain. But I made an exception for Maison Meunier, and I have to say I'm glad I did!The scrub smells fantastic, pairing the glorious bitter depth of coffee with the sweetness of brown sugar and the fruitiness of grapefruit. It is like a burst of sunshine when you open the packet, and as you begin to apply the product on the skin you can't help but feel any gloomy thoughts slip away.
I also love that this is fairly gentle on the skin, effectively buffing away dead cells but not rubbing so hard that your body is left red or sore. I like to let the damp grounds sit on my skin for several minutes so I can soak in all the benefits of the coffee seed powder, epsom salts, and oils - trust me, you will want to let this sit anyways just so you can inhale the lovely aroma.
Personally, I don't use this on my face, but if you have dry skin or like a physical exfoliation then feel free to give this a go too! With 72% organic ingredients and a radiance boosting formulation, I'm sure you will be left with glowing skin that thanks you for the experience.
Because honestly, after a single treatment you can see and feel the difference in your complexion - my legs, torso, and arms were so soft and smooth, and looked so much more radiant and healthy. I used this regularly last summer to get myself glowing, and found it really helped keep my body buffed and silky. And while the cleanup is still not my favourite, this product is worth a bit of mess!
Ingredients:
Coffea arabica (organic fair trade coffee) seed powder, Sucrose(organic brown sugar), Magnesium sulphate (organic epsom) Salt, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (organic sweet almond) kernel oil, Cocus nucifera (organic virgin coconut) fruit oil, Citrus paradisi (grapefruit) peel oil, Tocopherol (natural vitamin E), Limonene*. *Naturally occuring in essential oils.
Cleansing Oil & Make-Up Remover:
One of the most recent additions to my Maison Meunier collection is their Cleansing Oil & Make-Up Remover. And while this is a late-comer, it is by no means a product to be taken lightly! The oil is light and silky on the skin, smoothly massaging across the face and melting away buildup and product. It offers an oh so gentle but effective cleanse that fully removes makeup as well as the wear and tear of the day, plus brings a boost of moisture at the same time. While the formula contains several oils, including jojoba, sweet almond, sunflower, and camellia, it is not clogging and does not cause any congestion. Blemish free skin for the win!
I find this ideal for evening use, as it does need either a muslin cloth to remove or a second cleanse, and the scent helps settle the mind - great for easing tension in the evening and preparing for a restful night's sleep! The soft hint of vanilla promotes stress relief, is so luscious, and is just what I need at the end of a long day.
Overall, I am really enjoying this sample of the oil and it has most definitely found a spot in my evening skincare routine. This helps create a fresh base to work with, thoroughly cleansing and keeping everything soothed and soft. And it pairs so well with a second cleanse which Maison Meunier has been thoughtful enough to also provide...
Ingredients:
Simmondsia chinensis seed oil, Prunus amygdalus dulcis kernel oil, Isoamyl laurate, Isoamyl cocoate, Sodium castorate oil*, Camellia oleifera kernel oil* , Helianthus annuus seed oil, Vanilla planifolia fruit extract , Tocopherol. *From organic farming.
Gentle Foam Face Wash:
I most definitely felt like a lucky lady when I got to test this before it was officially announced or released - the Gentle Foaming Face Wash from Maison Meunier did not yet have its proper labels or finalized packaging yet when I initially tried it as a judge for the BSL Awards, but the formula itself has remained something I very much enjoy. One of the best foaming cleansers I have come across, not just because of the ultra silky lather it offers, but because it does not irritate my fussy skin or leave it feeling tight and in need of immediate moisture. My skin always feels so clean after rinsing off the foam, and it helps reset your face so you are left with a smooth, clear base that is ready for a fresh start.
The pump offers the perfect amount every time, and I find this works great on its own or as a follow up to the Cleansing Oil. The white foam is airy, like a cloud, and does not begin to liquidize or melt until you start to massage it into your skin, making it super easy to use. It is surprisingly silky, and I love how this wipes away dirt, daily grime, and residual oils with ease. And the formula washes away with just a splash or two of water meaning there is no need for a muslin cloth (so no further exfoliation!). This is ideal for those wanting a gentle experience or for those who need a quick and simple routine.
While this does have a slightly astringent aroma, it is balanced out really well with light floral notes that help transform this into a calming treatment that is great day or night. Paired with the fact that my problem areas started to heal up pretty quickly while using this, and I had no issues with breakouts, this foaming cleanser has definitely landed a spot on my "nice list" and will continue to be a skincare creation that is very much enjoyed by me!
Ingredients:
Aqua, Aloe barbadensis extract*, Vegetable glycerin, Coco glucoside, Sodium cocoamphoacetate, Xanthan gum, Hippophae rhamnoides extract*, Quillaja saponiaria, Simmondsia chinensis seed oil, Plumeria alba flower extract, Parfum (natural fragrance), Benzyl alcohol, Dehydroacetic acid, Sorbic acid, Benzoic acid, Sodium bicabonate. * from organic farming.
Natural Charcoal Cleansing Bar:
Selected for an Editor's Choice award by BSL in 2019, this plastic free cleansing bar brings a whole lot of benefits. With sustainable packaging, an affordable price point, clean (and 55% organic) ingredients, and a striking appearance, the Natural Charcoal Cleansing Bar has a lot to boast about!First off, it is really generously sized, meaning it lasts ages. I was sent one last year and I still have a bit of it left! I found cutting the bar into pieces really handy, as then it fit in my hand much more comfortably and I was able to preserve the dry pieces to use later down the road. And since this is fairly large to begin with, you end up saving a whole lot of packaging as well as money. Plus, this can double as a gentle exfoliation treatment if you pop it inside the unbleached cotton carrier pouch it comes with! Just softly massage the bagged bar across your face and skin, and voila - it buffs away dead cells and refreshes your complexion.
The bar suds up well, but does not strip the skin or leave it feeling tight making it fab for both face and body. It removes residues and helps clarify clogged pores with the help of tea tree and activated charcoal, and ensures nothing goes dry thanks to the six nourishing oils and butters used. Overall, this cleansing bar really impressed me, and I can see why so many people love it!
Ingredients:
Sodium cocoate (organic coconut) oil, Sodium shea butterate(organic shea butter), Aqua(purified water), Sodium cocoa butterate(cocoa butter), Sodium olivate(extra virgin olive oil), Sodium castorate(organic castor) oil, Sodium rosehipseedate(rosehip) oil, Melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) oil, Lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, Charcoal powder**, Linalool*, Limonene*, Geraniol*.
*Naturally occurring in essential oils.

Gentle Cold Process Soap (Oatmeal & Soya Milk)
Another new addition to my Maison Meunier lineup is this gorgeous cold-processed soap. And don't let the simple ingredient list fool you - this is another lovely little bar!Enriched with six oils and butters, the Oatmeal & Soya Milk blend is a gentle creation suitable for most skin types - and since there are no essential oils, this is mild enough for sensitive skin too. There is not much of a scent to this bar, but honestly I find that refreshing. I'm of the camp that not everything needs to smell super strong, and I like having the option of a fragrance free product.
The soap lathers up nicely, with a generous amount of suds so you can fully tackle dirt, germs, and residual oils from products easily. It rinses well, and while it does give you a super clean feel, it does not dry out your skin or leave it feeling stripped. Instead, you have a reset for your hands, but with a few additional benefits...
Because of the texture of the soap, with the lovely looking imprint on the front and the pieces of oatmeal adding a small grain to the bar, this offers a delicate buffing effect that helps provide a daily exfoliation treatment to your hands. I find this helps keep them feeling smooth and soft, and it makes this bar a great all over treatment too. Take this in the shower and massage across your body, or even lather it up to use as a second cleanse after an oil based formula - either way, this works well!
Ingredients:
Sodium cocoate*, Sodium olivate (extra virgin olive oil), Aqua (purified water), Soya milk, Sodium shea butterate, Sodium castorate*, Sodium mango butterate, Sodium cocoa butterate, Avena sativa. *From organic farming Free from palm oil, mineral oil, synthetic dyes or fragrances.
There also used to be a stunning jar of bath salts, but sadly this has been discontinued. I really wish I had scooped up a few of the last pots, as this lush treatment (made from a combination of Himalayan and Epsom salts, kaolin clay, dried flower petals, and an infusion of lavender, ylang ylang, and sweet orange essential oils) was so pretty, smelled totally peaceful, and was such a treat for the skin and senses at the end of the week. However, Maison Meunier does still have a selfcare solution - there are two hand poured candles you can choose from, both which sound so tranquil. Has anyone tried these?? I would love your thoughts!
Overall I have been enjoying the range of skincare goodies created by Maison Meunier, and while I do have my favourites (including the serum and face mask) I really do think each product has its own special qualities that make them stand out. Plus, I love that there are sample sizes available so you can test out the formula and see how your skin responds before committing to the full size!
I would be interested in your thoughts about Maison Meunier now that you've had a look at their range. Which of these treatments are in your lineup? Or which catch your eye the most?? I am keen to hear all about it, so let me know in the comments below! xx
