Do you wear makeup when staying at home?? One brand I have been gravitating towards more and more is RMS, an organic brand that has achieved cult status in both the natural and mainstream beauty world.
In many ways it feels silly to bother with makeup during this time, and normally I would not even think about applying makeup if I am staying in. But lately I've found that it is giving me some semblance of normalcy. With the days blurring together and most of the week spent in pajamas working from home, I find that a quick sweep of mascara or a swipe of highlight leaves me feeling a little more put together and in control.
Created with certified organic ingredients in their natural state RMS Beauty products feed skin with the vitamins, enzymes, and nutrients it needs, combining skincare with colour. Formulated to be as pure as possible, products keep skin healthy and promote anti-ageing benefits for long-term beauty.
About RMS:
This range includes both makeup and skincare goodies, all of which have been expertly crafted to hydrate and illuminate. I'll admit, I first thought these products were way out of my price range and I couldn't fathom spending £30 on a lipstick. But as soon as I got my hands on a few samples I realized that this was not your average makeup line.
Almost everything has been made to be versatile, able to be used multiple ways so you are actually getting exceptional quality along with fantastic value. This is a brand that is ideal for those wanting to minimize the number of products in their stash, but is also great for anyone who is looking to just clean up their routine! And as I fit both of these when it comes to makeup, I was most definitely ready to explore RMS a bit more...

No matter how I have received a product, whether it has been purchased with my own money, gifted by a brand, been subsidized by a brand, won, gifted by friends/family, or purchased with a gift voucher, my approach is always the same -- honesty, integrity, and highlighting both the good and the bad. You can find more information on Disclosures and Privacy here.
First things first - if you are looking to try out a wide range of shades for the first time, this is most definitely the way to go. RMS lipsticks are not cheap (as is the case with all organic makeup), so trying samples before you commit to the full size is really important if you are worried about your wallet. And while these are smaller than their big sisters (1.8g/.04 oz opposed to 4.5g/.15 oz) you get five colours to try inside this set - Jezebel, Temptation, Masquerade, Unmistakable, and Nightfall. In terms of amount of product, you even end up getting the equivalent of MORE than a full tube of lippy, so this is worth picking up.
The lipsticks themselves are super smooth - so much so that I found that if you want this to be long lasting at all you cannot wear any balm underneath. I normally apply something as a base to help ensure my lips don't go dry and to help with an even application, but when I did this with the RMS formulas I found the lipstick came off really quickly. At first I was torn about my thoughts about these, however, once I adjusted my usual routine I was happy to find that they stayed on much longer. Not all day, but honestly I don't expect that from any cleaner beauty formula since the 24-hour results more often than not stem from silicones.
And while these lipsticks do contain some synthetics, RMS is very upfront about their use:
In the interest of full disclosure, we want you to know that all of our colors are created using natural minerals except: Luminizer X Quad in "Luminizer Nude", Lip2Cheek color in "Smile" and "Beloved" and Lip Shine in "Sacred" and "Content", which could not be created without the use of the tiniest bit of FDA approved, food-grade, synthetic color. We have used approximately .5 % (1/2 %). In the "Wild with Desire" lipstick line there is also FDA approved, food-grade, synthetic color in "Rebound", "Russian Roulette", "Pretty Vacant", "RMS Red", "Rapture", "Jezebel", "Vogue Rose", "Sweet Nothing" and "Dressed Up Red" lip liner. There is an extremely small amount used as there is no substitute for the color intensity (mostly with red) that we desired for this line high impact color.
If your goal is to avoid all synthetic pigments, please choose from any of the other products in the rms beauty line. As science advances, we will continue to reformulate until we find a natural source for those color.
Despite containing a tiny percentage of synthetic colouring, RMS is still one of the cleanest makeup lines on the market in terms of high performance products, and I also find that they offer an incredible amount of pigment that is unrivaled. I was shocked by how bold all of the lipsticks are, as I just had never experienced that level of saturation before! They are so eye catching, but also super wearable. Do be aware though that these lipsticks will transfer to whatever cup you are drinking from - they definitely are not "kiss proof" formulas. I do love how your lips retain a bit of the colour though, so even as they wear off you are left with a beautiful stain that lasts hours and hours.
Overall I have been really pleased with these lipsticks, and while I find them a tad too creamy at times I appreciate how comfortable they feel and how they keep my lips feeling hydrated while I'm wearing such gorgeous pops of colour. The satin finish is lovely, and I really do find these pretty special parts of my makeup collection.
P.s. in a pinch and looking for a blusher? Gently place the tip of your finger on the lipstick so you pick up some creamy pigment, then tap onto the apples of your cheeks - you'll get an instant natural flushed look that will stay for hours!

The mascara is pretty buildable, but you do need to be quick - if you let this dry then the natural waxes tend to make it a bit harder to recoat your lashes. I love the intensity this brings though, and it adds such definition to my eyes that I found myself quickly becoming a fan of this formula!
There were a few small issues I had with this mascara, but none were deal breakers for me personally. I found that the label on the tube itself peeled away almost immediately, so there was no branding left on it after about a week. Normally I take photos of products when they arrive, but sadly I forgot to with this as I was super busy at the time (hence the lack of fancy images with the RMS name on the tube!). I also found that while my lashes themselves didn't clump up or have any flaking, the tube was prone to getting super messy. The mascara would glob up around the top when I push the wand down and twist it shut, and then when I would go to re-open the next day the dried solution would crumble up and get all over my counter and hands. Not ideal, but again, it doesn't change how the actual product performs!
Overall I was really happy with this mascara despite the hiccups with the packaging, and I adore how compact it is and how easily it applies. I found I got great control with the wand, and I really liked the look of my lashes. This is a fab mascara, and I may be tempted to pick up another in future.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), *Cera Alba (Beeswax), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), Glycerin, *Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Stearic Acid, *Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Starch, Glyceryl Stearate, *Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Hydroxide, Benzyl Alcohol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Limonene, Geranoil, Parfum (Natural Fragrance) *Certified Organic
Each powder is pressed without using any heat exposure to preserve the integrity of ingredients and prevent skin dehydration. The breakthrough formula delivers the ease of a powder with the texture of a cream to blend seamlessly into skin while also keeping skin hydrated and nourished with the highest-quality living ingredients for a perfect glow without sacrificing the health of skin.
The trio contains three generously sized circular pans containing Madeira Bronzer Luminizing Powder, Grande Dame Luminizing Powder, and Demure Blush. And while each shade is attributed with a specific use, these can be used for pretty much anything!
Madeira is a sun-kissed bronze goddess that has a subtle shimmer that adds to its gorgeous glow. I find this shade is perfect as an everyday eyeshadow, a bronzer, contour (which I'll admit I just am not into - too time consuming for me personally), and to sweep across my collarbones and chest if I'm wanting a beachy summer vibe.
Grande Dame is my go to for highlighter and illuminating eyeshadow, as the neutral "moonlit-champagne" tone is perfect for blending into my skin and giving a subtle shimmer to my complexion or adding a hint of glam to my lids. While this is not immediately an intense illuminator, I find it builds so so well so you can achieve a dazzling gleam or a more everyday sheen - either way, you have a stunning glow that adds great dimension to your face and provides the perfect pop.
Demure is a rosy pink that has great payoff straight away, but it definitely isn't overwhelming like many other blushers I have tried in the past. I primarily use this on my cheeks, but when I'm feeling a bit adventurous I do also apply the powder as an eyeshadow. As a blush, this has become a favourite and I find myself reaching for this more and more. I am naturally flushed as is, so when I am going to use a product like this I want it to be super blendable so I can buff it into my cheeks and not be left looking like a clown. RMS has created something that I feel comfortable wearing, but can also impress those looking for a more pigmented blusher as this can be layered for a statement look.
The Sensual Skin Trio is lightweight, non clogging for my pores, and doesn't have much fallout when you apply so it makes for a simple and faff free routine that I have been so impressed by. I really like that they don't dry out my skin or catch in any rough patches - they always look smooth and flawless when I sweep them across my skin!
This is definitely a star product in the RMS makeup line, and I'm so happy I picked this up. I think this might just be a new staple in my makeup bag, and I will be buying another as soon as this hits pan!

I don't actually use this on the rest of my face as the formula contains coconut oil which, while making for a lusciously creamy and easily blended creation, unfortunately breaks me out. This is why I tend to prefer powders, as my congestion prone skin copes with them better. Yet I still find myself drawn to these luminizers as they are just so intense. I find the highlight is super concentrated, and I've yet to find something that matches the quality.

There is a little bit of fallout from the eyeshadows, but I find overall they are easy to work with and they really do stay on the lid all day for me. Some of my favourites I have tried are from the Sunset Beach line (though I am also partial to Garden Rose), as I love the coppery finish and find them super versatile. These can be made casual for an everyday look, fierce for a wild night out, or posh for a special occasion - it's all about how you style the Swift Shadow!
And since these are gentle on the skin, they also double as a luminizing highlighter or a bronzer. That's the beauty of RMS makeup - you are spoiled for choice with how you utilize each product, and you can get as creative as you wish!

Never would I have imagined I would be loving a hot pink lippy, but it is just such an interesting and bold colour that I can't help but be excited by it!
Have you tried out RMS yet? I would love to hear what formulas you have had luck with and how you use each of the products. Are there any ways I should try that I haven't mentioned?? Any particular picks you would recommend? Let me know! xx

Wild With Desire Mini Lipstick Set:
One of the first things I decided to pick up from RMS was the Wild With Desire Mini Lipstick Set. Everyone seemed to be raving about this collection, and so I caved in and added the pack to my next Love Lula order.First things first - if you are looking to try out a wide range of shades for the first time, this is most definitely the way to go. Volumizing Mascara:
While some people may disagree, I actually really enjoy the Volumizing Mascara and find it offers a great level of control as well as the perfect shade of black. The packaging is really slim line, and the wand itself gives such precision - it was a great discovery, as often I find mascara a little tricky to maneuver and can never quite get each lash coated just how I want. With RMS this was never an issue, and I found myself happy with the end results every time I used this! The mascara is pretty buildable, but you do need to be quick - if you let this dry then the natural waxes tend to make it a bit harder to recoat your lashes. Sensual Skin Trio:
Oh how happy I am to have scooped this beauty up! By far my favourite RMS product so far, the Sensual Skin Trio is a vegan friendly multi-tasking marvel that I recommend for everyone. Living Luminizer:
There are actually a variety of luminizers within the RMS range, including a gorgeous looking Champagne Rose shade that would prove incredibly versatile as it straddles the boundary between a blush tone and diamond sparkle. The one I have on hand, Living Luminizer, is the OG formula and just so happens to be the lightest one in the lineup. This is perfect for illuminating areas you want to really pop. I use this primarily on my cupid's bow, collarbones, and on the inner corners of my eyes, as I love the way it brings a natural glow and really brightens up my features.I don't actually use this on the rest of my face as the formula contains coconut oil which, while making for a lusciously creamy and easily blended creation, unfortunately breaks me out. This is why I tend to prefer powders, as my congestion prone skin copes with them better. Yet I still find myself drawn to these luminizers as they are just so intense. Swift Shadow:
I'll admit I don't reach for these quite as much anymore now that I have the Sensual Skin Trio, but I still really enjoy them when I do work them into my makeup look. There is a pretty wide variety of shades in the RMS Swift Shadow collection, from moody nudes and edgy purples to pretty pinks and peachy corals. Each of these vegan friendly creations shares the same base which contains nourishing jojoba seed and buriti fruit oil, antimicrobial rosemary extract, and mica powder, and all the different blends provide pigmented tones that can be blended or built up so you can very the intensity of the colour. There is a little bit of fallout from the eyeshadows, but I find overall they are easy to work with and they really do stay on the lid all day for me. If I am out for a long time and don't want my makeup to melt or move until I'm home, these have become tried and trusted products I know I can rely on.

Let me know! xx
